Valorant - Random loadout generator

Valorant is a tactical first-person shooter game developed and published by Riot Games. I am a gamer myself and wanted to add an extra layer to the game by creating a random loadout generator. This tool allows players to quickly generate random weapon loadouts to use in-game, which creates a more dynamic and unpredictable gameplay experience. Although the generator is live and functional, I'm still working on improving its features and user experience.

Process

At first I made a simple version of the generator, design for 1 person only. It worked fine, but didn't consider the fact that Valorant is a team-based game, where no teammates can play with the same agent. So I decided to redesign the generator to accommodate for a full team of 5 players. Once an agent is assigned to a player, it is removed from the pool of available agents for the remaining players. This ensures that each player gets a unique agent.

As of this moment (2025), the agents, weapons, and shields are all hardcoded into the JavaScript file. In the future, I plan to create a backend using the official Valorant API to fetch the latest data dynamically.

Brightfish Campaign Planner

Brightfish is a Belgian marketing agency that specializes in creating movie advertising campaigns for clients. For a school project, I worked together with Brightfish. In their demand, I developed a campaign planner tool that helps clients visualize and organize their marketing strategies. The tool includes features like a calendar view, budget tracking, and location-based advertising. This was a group project, and I was responsible for the front-end development, design, and conceptualization. Meet my team: Victor Thys & Marvis Ojo

Process

We started by gathering requirements from Brightfish to understand their needs and expectations for the campaign planner. After that, we created some wireframes to visualize the user interface and user experience. Once the design was approved and user-tested, we began coding the front-end using HTMX for dynamic content loading. The back-end was developed using PHP and MySQL to handle data storage and retrieval. Throughout the project, we maintained regular communication with Brightfish to ensure that the tool met their expectations. After several iterations and feedback sessions, we successfully delivered a functional campaign planner that met the client's needs.

Brightfish also requested an AI chatbot to assist users with questions about the tool. We used HALO to create a custom-trained chatbot that could provide accurate and helpful responses based on the tool's documentation and FAQs.

Google Doodle

In the context of a school assignment, I created a Google Doodle to celebrate a significant event: Global Smurfs day, which as a Belgian is in my opinion quite significant. The Doodle features animations to engage users, all of which were created with CSS and custom-made SVG graphics.

Process

I began by researching the history and significance of the Smurfs to ensure that the Doodle would be both informative and engaging. Next, I drew some sketches and translated those into SVG graphics to represent the Smurfs and their environment. Using CSS, I added animations to bring the Doodle to life, making sure that the animations were smooth and visually appealing. Once the Doodle was complete, I sent it to Google!

Simon in the harbor

This game was the final project of a class in my first year. That semester was all about sustainable fashion, so I created this children's game to raise awareness about the impact of fast fashion on the environment. The game is set in a harbor where players must destroy the evil cargo ships, trains, and trucks. The entire game was made in JavaScript, and uses custom-made SVG graphics. (nl)

Process

I started by researching the environmental impact of fast fashion to ensure that the game's message was accurate and impactful. Next, I created a game design document outlining the gameplay mechanics, objectives, and visual style. Using Figma, I designed the game's user interface and flow. The game was then developed using JavaScript, with custom SVG graphics created for the game's assets. Throughout the development process, I playtested the game to ensure that it was fun and engaging while effectively conveying its message about sustainable fashion.

Amuse

My first ever design project was a redesign of Spotify for a specific target audience. I created a music streaming service called Amuse, specifically designed for ballet dancers. The app features a clean and elegant design, with curated playlists and features tailored to the needs of ballet dancers.

Process

I began by researching the needs and preferences of ballet dancers when it comes to music streaming. I developed personas to understand the target audience and their needs. Next, I designed a logo and brainstormed the name "Amuse" to reflect the app's purpose. I selected a color palette and created a brandsheet to ensure consistent branding. Wireframes were sketched to plan the app's layout and user flow. Finally, I prototyped both the app and its product website in Figma, refining the design based on feedback.
